Post-Jam Bug Fixes
Finally finished the long process of fixing the bugs in this incredibly buggy game-jam game. I've been working on this whenever I've been able to find the time (and haven't been working on other projects) and finally I can say that the game is pretty stable :) I'm sure there will be other bugs, but I can fix them in a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, I'm planning on doing one more follow-up patch to this to add some "juice", after which, I will consider this project completely finalised.
Here's an abridged version of the bug-fixes included in this patch:
- Stabilised items:They no-longer glitch out of the menu screen, and if they do, they respawn in the Main Menu. Their clic-points have also been fixed.
- Stabilised the desktop: It now works approximately like a real desktop :)
- Stabilised HammerMan: He can now no-longer be duplicated, and he only interacts with the world that he is currently inside of (his game window, the desktop, or the menus). Additionally, he doesn't glitch out of the screen into the void nearly as often, but if he does, he respawns back inside his game.
- Stabilised the music: All tracks and sound effects are now muted and unmuted correctly using the appropriate buttons.
- Improved instructions: Instructions now tell you how to use held items.
- Improved password puzzle: Made the password puzzle a bit easier by having HelpBot give more specific hints towards its solution (playtesting will reveal if this is enough).
- Fixed the recycling bin: It now does something ;)
- A LOT of other small visual and functional bugs here and there.
Really glad that I managed to get this version out before the next Godot Wild Jam starts, which I'm going to be kicking off with in only a few hours.
P.S.: Thanks to everyone who played this game and rated it well during the jam, I was absolutely thrilled with the result, but I'll get into that more in the post-mortem dev log once I've finished the final patch. Stay tuned!
